Registration is now open for all Spring 2025 Lifeguarding Courses.

Register today for any of our spring classes. Training consists of on-line lectures, video and interactive sessions which is to be completed prior to the skills sessions. Skills sessions are to be completed with an instructor at the location verified at registration. Eleven different offering dates to choose. Participants only need to attend one weekend of the skills sessions and pass the final scenarios plus a written test to earn the 2-year certification. Registration in on-line only.
Must be turning 15 years old to register...
If you’re at least 15 years of age and can complete a prerequisite swim test YOU can become an American Red Cross Lifeguard. Join the team of Lifeguards and learn life-saving skills such as CPR, First Aid and water rescues. Participants must be turning 15 years old on or before the final day of lifeguard training.
Prerequisite Swim Test:
The prerequisite swim test is a three-part test consisting of a 200 yard continuous swim, a twominute tread and a timed event including a swim and rescue. More information about this prerequisite swim test can be found on our website.
Working as a Lifeguard…
After completing a lifeguard certification course participants will receive their certificate via email. All participants can apply to work for Katy ISD as a Lifeguard. Katy ISD hires lifeguards all year and pays very competitively at $14.00 per hour.
