Starting a Business & Franchising
Starting a business will teach participants key considerations that need to be evaluated prior to deciding whether to start their own business. Agenda items includes entrepreneurship, primary motivations, key characteristics, research process and business plan, financing and administrative tasks, and fear. Franchising will teach participants how to determine if franchising is right for you. Key topics of discussion include a franchising overview, candidate motivations, advantages and disadvantages of franchise ownership, Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), analyzing potential income, franchise costs, four quadrants of franchising and the investigation process and funding. The instructor has extensive director/senior director level experience in franchising with industry leaders Mobil Oil, TGIFriday’s and Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza. He is a nationally published franchise consultant with FranChoice, the premier group of franchise consultants in the country and is also co-author of international best seller “Franchising Freedom.” He and his wife Christy are also top performing franchisees in one of the 225+ concepts that he represents.
